Bitcoin to $10,000 in 2014 according to majority of Bitcoiners

More then half of the 5500 people who voted in a coindesk poll said that they believed the Bitcoin price will reach $10.000 in 2014. The crypto currency has been fluctuating around $13 to $1200 in 2013, but 2014 will be an even more exciting year, according to 55% of the asked Bitcoiners.

The full results can be viewed in the picture at the top of this thread. 55% said yes, 31% said no, and about 13% thought the question was ridiculous. According to Bitcoin Investor Cameron Winklevoss, the price of Bitcoin could reach $40,000. He said that in a recent AMA on the Bitcoin Reddit. He did not specify when he thought the price would reach those heights.

You might be wondering to yourself: What are all these bullish predictions based on? Well, the simple answer is publicity. A lot more companies are scheduled to accept Bitcoins in 2014, which will increase the publicity of the virtual currency greatly. We have even made a list that listed 3 major retailers that will probably accept BTC in 2014.

A other reason for the predicted price rise is the involvement of multiple big investment company’s. Because BTC has a limited supply, the more Bitcoins are bought, the more it will be worth.

Anyway, 2014 promises to be an exciting year for crypto currencies!
