1-800-Flowers has started accepting the digital currency Bitcoin as a means of payment with a collaboration with Bitcoin payment provider Coinbase. The New York-based company is the number one floral and gift e-tailer with a yearly revenue of $735 Million. It is therefore added to the “Hall of Fame” of largest retailers that accept Bitcoins. As of Tuesday, Online Electronics retailer NewEgg has started to accept Bitcoins. Their official press release regarding the news can be found here. NewEgg has partnered with BitPay to process the Bitcoin payments. NewEgg, and competitor TigerDirect, has been teasing Bitcoin plans for a few months now.
