How Google Can Implement Bitcoin & Increase Profits

As we all know Google is exploring ways of implementing Bitcoin to their websites, but how can a search engine use Bitcoin, and increase its profits by using the advantages of the digital currency. The internet giant has multiple services that could integrate Bitcoin, and we list a few of Google’s most popular services and explore the possible Bitcoin usage in those services.

1. Android Marketplace

The first Google service that could actively use Bitcoin is the Android Marketplace. Bitcoin is the best currency for making small micropayments, which is essentially where the Appstore & Marketplace thrive on. An App can cost as little as a dollar, and at this moment Google is losing about 0.12$ of that dollar to credit card transaction fee’s. They could implement Bitcoin and set a small transaction fee of $0.01, and save $0.11 as pure profit.

2. Google Adsense Payout

Google adsense is the most popular advertising network in the world. It is used by millions of webmasters who want to get a revenue from their visitors, and they are all getting paid with a wire transfer or a cheque. Google could use Bitcoin for sending the payments as the currency can be sent to all country’s in the world, and again, they would save a lot of money on transaction fee’s.

3. Google Adwords

Google adwords is google’s Advertising platform which people who want to advertise their services can use to get their ads displayed in the Google search results, or on Adsense advertisement blocks on websites. The advertisers need to pay for their ads logically, so Bitcoin implementation should be a no-brainer. They could make a system to automatically approve payments after 6+ confirmations on the blockchain, which will speed up the process of getting your ads through the review process.

4. Youtube Tipping

Youtube offers a way for content creators to monetize their video’s. Youtube partners can earn money by displaying advertisements on their video, or use TrueView in-stream ads. Google could implement a Bitcoin tipping option so users can also tip the channels that they like the most. It would look something like the picture above.

5. Google Checkout

And last but not least, Checkout, the search giant’s own payment processing platform. Adding funds through Bitcoin could boost the usage of the online wallet as a few good webshops do accept checkout as a payment option. However, Checkout is not available in all country’s yet.
